Response to 2011 Reunion
Invitation
"Thank you very much for all of your
hard work in getting our 40th reunion organized! I would
definitely have come to it, but my wife and I will be in Italy this
summer and cannot attend.
I would love to see pictures of it though. I hope some
will be available later. We are still teaching at The Stony Brook
School in Stony Brook, New York (Long Island). I hope everyone is
doing well these days."
Sincerely, Michael Crandall

Biography - August 2007
Dear Classmates,
After De La Salle, I went to the University of Massachusetts
in Amherst and received a Bachelor of Arts in Classics. Then I lived in
Europe for fourteen months and participated in a Christian youth
organization there.
I returned to the US and attended a seminary outside of Chicago where I
received a Master of Divinity degree in 1986. In those years, I met my
wife, Marie Sandonato, who was a classmate of one of my younger sisters,
and we were married in 1981.
I then received a Masters Degree in Education in 1985 from Boston State
College (now U.Mass Boston). I taught at Boston University in their
English as a Second Language program and also at English Language Services
in Boston.
My wife and I also taught at a private Christian high school in Brockton, Massachusetts:
I taught English and Bible, and Marie taught French and Spanish.
We then moved to Germany and worked with a linguistic organization called
SIL International. There we did linguistic research and literacy work on a
formerly unwritten Indo-European language of western Asia.
We returned to the US in 2003 and moved to Stony Brook, New York where we
now teach at a Christian college-preparatory day and boarding school
called The Stony Brook School. I am teaching English as a Second Language
again, and Marie is again teaching French as well as running a girls’
dormitory on the campus.
Sincerely,
Michael Crandall |
