Current Info Chris lived in Hemet, CA and comes back to visit friends and family in Newport from time to time. Chris attended college at Wentworth, Roger Williams and then Berkley. He was a keyboard player and vocalist in a band called "The 60's Conspiracy".

Obituary - Christopher J. Quinn September 22, 1953 - December 19, 2011 HEMET, Calif. - Christopher J. Quinn, 58, of Hemet, CA, native son of Newport, RI, passed away from our temporal lives into the Eternal, Monday, December 19, 2011. Born at Naval Hospital Newport on September 22, 1953, he was the son of Dorothy (Carr) Quinn and the late Capt. Charles Quinn, USN of Newport. He was the loving companion of Patty Rae Whittaker of Hemet, and the father of three daughters, Christy Cayson, Kerry Ann and Jenny Lynn Quinn, all of Tujunga, CA. Chris attended Thompson Jr. High and De La Salle Academy in Newport, then spent one year at Wentworth Institute in Massachusetts. Mr. Quinn was a consummate artist, in so many realms. Wielding paintbrush, pastel or pencil, Chris would draw a portrait, as if a photograph. Yet it was the fine art of music that would thrust him into his long life trade. The great local Newport rock bands of the 1970's contained Chris on keys and vocals. 'The Nightshift" "Grease the Cat" and "Island", high performance rock and roll outfits, playing up and down the East Coast. Chris and his band "Island" with Newporter and star John Cowsill on drums, relocated from Newport to Hollywood, California, in 1979. Mr. Quinn spent the next thirty years of his life, teaching, writing, and performing music. From playing solo at Michele's Restaurant in front of 300 diners in North Hollywood, to touring as the keyboard player for Capitol Recording Artists "Poco", to playing with his most recent project "The '60' Conspiracy" at the annual summer concerts for 3,000 Bikers, in the mountains, outside of Hemet, Christopher spoke of love and peace through his music. And to his family and dear friends, this was the singular trait, trade, art that Chris splayed. The way he walked this earth, our rock, speaking of and always trying to teach peace and love. Chris Quinn, shaman and seeker said,"Altruism, is the finest of all arts. To be kind and gracious to others, especially in the face of pressure and struggle, is the greatest of all arts". Quinney was a cab driver for Cozy Cab of Newport, and was a sales representative for Gem Plastics Corp. of Glendale California for many years. Christopher also leaves a sister Charlene "Candy" Dunn of Charlestown, RI and brothers Charles Quinn of Warwick, RI and Mark Quinn of Pawtucket, RI, uncles and aunts, many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, cousins and best friends. His father and his brother Matthew Quinn predecease him. A Memorial Service will be conducted for Chris at a time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chris's memory to the Matthew Quinn, Rogers High School Scholarship Fund, 15 Wickham Road, Newport or to St. Mary's Church Building Fund, P.O.
